CAGLI: The Super Bowl, Mardi Gras, Christmas, the World Series, your birthday and New Year's Eve combined are nothing compared to this!

ITALY PUT THE smack down on France last night to win the World Cup and the city of Cagli erupted.

Sure, it took two overtime periods and penalty kicks but the celebration here in Cagli - as well as across the country - was absolutely insane. Hundreds, maybe thousands of people flooded the piazza. There were dozens of cheering fans in the fountain, flags flying everywhere, a lot of men hugging and kissing each other and a DJ playing the national anthem over and over and over again.

It was the greatest day in the history of Italy since 1982, the last time Italy was the World Cup champion.

Really. Just ask any Italian.
